Northwest Rutland residents welcomed the summer in style on June 10, 2017 with the 2nd Annual Summer Festival.
After a cold and wet start to June, the 80 degree bluebird day was well received by all. By 11 AM on Saturday morning, Park Ave was filled with music, laughter, and smiles as Rutlanders strolled down the street participating in activities and games, talking to local organizations about their summer offerings and resources, and enjoying grilled food around picnic tables under a canopy.
Over 400 Rutlanders came and enjoyed the Summer Festival, sponsored by National NeighborWorks Week, Promise Communities, and Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility. This event also had support from Stewart’s Shops, Green Screen Graphics, the Powell family, Mandala House, and the Roadside Chapel.
A very special thanks to Rutland Recreation and Rutland Dismas House – this event would not have been a success without these incredible organizations and their amazing staff and volunteers!
