On Saturday, May 20, the doors were opened wide at 39 Pine Street, our third gut renovation in Northwest Rutland, for the community to view. On the spacious lawn outside the historic rehab, hot dogs were grilled, faces were painted, frisbee and corn hole games were played, and flower pots were decorated all while George Nostrand performed live music that drifted through the warm afternoon air.
The event was organized by our LaborWorks crew, NeighborWorks of Western Vermont’s in-house construction team that transforms vacant houses into healthy, safe, efficient, beautiful, and affordable homes.
A special thanks to all those who made this event possible, including the Powell family, the Rutland Rec, Mandala House, Freihofer’s Bakery Outlet, Garden Time, the Vermont Farmers Food Center, Hannafords, Price Chopper, and George Nostrand.
It was a beautiful community get-together for neighbors of all ages, and the second in a series of summer-long events sponsored by NeighborWorks of Western Vermont.
