NeighborWorks of Western Vermont is hiring for a Homebuyer Educator! This opportunity is excellent for someone looking for a second source of income ($35/hour) that can commit to ~25 hours per month, mostly on weekday evenings and on Saturdays.
The Homebuyer Educator will be responsible for organizing and facilitating homebuyer education workshops for Addison, Rutland, and Bennington Counties.
The educator will also be responsible for the following:
- Creating the agenda for each workshop
- Scheduling speakers (recommended to contact speakers 2-3 weeks in advance)
- Collecting signatures on the sign in sheet, workshop surveys, the authorization and conflict of interest statements, and entering these appropriately into Salesforce and Onedrive after each course
- Creating and signing the Certificates
The primary responsibility of the Education Coordinator is to manage and sustain effective education programs. Responsibilities of the Education Coordinator include managing and acting as trainer for pre-purchase homebuyer education classes. The Education Coordinator will maintain communication between internal departments and external vendors. He or she will also continually evaluate the curriculum, training methodologies, and instructor protocols, and adjust them as needed to ensure the delivery of high-quality education services to clients.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the implementation of comprehensive pre-purchase education program
- Provide quality control for all aspects of the programs to include the service-delivery system, customer-tracking system, program effectiveness, and overall customer satisfaction
- Ensure that all materials, curriculum, and other items are inventoried and stocked in preparation for class delivery
- Secure the meeting places and manage all logistics related to workshop delivery
- Assist with the nurturing of existing partnerships and outreach to prospective partners in an effort to secure funding and support for the education programs
- Develop, manage, and distribute the graduation certificates for the homebuyers in the program
- Produce statistical and analytical management reports to include information regarding customer transaction, class attendance, customer satisfaction, and outcomes data
- Work closely with the housing coach on development, implementation, and improvement of system. Maintain constant communication and respond to feedback
- Assist the HomeOwnership Center Director with special projects as assigned and other task deemed necessary to achieve overall goals and operate a successful education program

Experience and Qualification Requirements:
- Dynamic instructor who can engage participants and promote interactive learning
- Ability to attend and successfully complete NeighborWorks America’s Training the Trainer coursework and exam
- Demonstrated presentation skills and the ability to adjust style and pace to audience needs
- Working knowledge of audiovisual equipment and projectors
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to stand on occasion for long periods of time
- Availability to work evenings and weekends with travel throughout Rutland, Bennington, and Addison Counties
- Ability to lift 30 lbs
Desired Qualifications:
- Two to four years’ professional experience in mortgage lending or housing preferred
- Familiarity with financial capabilities
Compensation:
- The Homebuyer Educator will be compensated $35.00/hour and will receive a 1099 at the end of the year as an independent educator
- Mileage will be reimbursed at the gsa.gov rate
