On Wednesday, July 20, 2016, a team of young Northwest Rutland neighborhood volunteers and a group of YouthWorks volunteers joined forces to install a fence at the new 113 Library Ave green space in Rutland, Vermont, at the site where a blighted building once stood.
Using a Vermont Community Development Program grant, NeighborWorks of Western Vermont razed the blighted building in January 2015, and deeded the plot to the City of Rutland.
The area will be open for community use including pick-up football games and outdoor movie nights after the fence is completed. Just another exciting step forward in Rutland’s revitalization!
