A new park is coming to the Northwest Neighborhood of Rutland City!
Join the Rutland City Recreation & Parks Department and NeighborWorks for a free BBQ and design meeting. Share which park features you and your family would like to see in the park, and meet some of your neighbors. We will be at 65 Baxter St., the site of the park, on the corner of Baxter St. and Library St. in Rutland City, from 5:30-7:00 pm on Monday July 27, 2015.
The new park is part of a revitalization effort led by the City of Rutland and NeighborWorks of Western Vermont, thanks to a $1.25 million grant from the Vermont Community Development Program. The 65 Baxter St. site is the first of four properties that will be reused for community space; NeighborWorks will renovate and repair an additional seven properties and sell them as perpetually affordable homes to new occupants over the next few years. Read more about the grant here. For more information about the grant, contact Mary Cohen at 797-8100 or [email protected].
